It is heartening to see so many Land Rovers creeping into TV shows. Time Team has long supported the marque but every chef and property consultant now seems to drive them as well. We particularly liked the trusty old 90, complete with checker plate rear door, in the new detective adventure called Vera.
What is it about police drama today? They have to have a minimum of at least three dead bodies but in many cases five or six? What about good plot, drama and acting? Could we have at least a passing glance at realism? Are detectives especially prone to emotional angst, alchoholism and live alone? Prime Suspect was never like that.
